Still looking for that perfect smoothie recipe? Here’s my tips&tricks for both nutritiously balanced and awesome tasting smoothies.
Step 1. Choose one or two ingredients from the each section of following categories. Pick at least one that’s marked with a little star (*). This means that ingredient works well when it’s icy cold and a bit frozen, which brings nice coolness and ice cream -like texture to your smoothie. If you’d like to have and supernutritious smoothie, also add something from the last section.
Sweet potato (steamed)
A little zest
Whey protein powder
Egg white protein powder
Rice protein powder
Any other protein powder (…)
Soaked&rinsed nuts or seeds
Fruit juices (no added sugar)
Shades from seasoning
Ginger, fresh or powder
Ginger bread spice
Hint of pepper or cayenne
Liquorice root powder
Sea buck thorn
Pheeeeeeew. That was a long step 1. But I promise you, after the selection of the ingredients, the process if super quick. Let’s move to step 2 then!
Step 2. Add a little liquids into a blender, then fresh ingredients and spices. Mix up. Next the satiety bringing stuff (=protein) goes in, mix that thorough as well. Lastly add the frozen ingredients. Be patient with frosty berries and fruit: It may take a while to mix up well, but the result pays off! If needed, you can add a bit more liquid to get the desired consistency.
Step 3. Garnish your smoothie with different kinds of thingies! Of course if you’re gonna drink your smoothie, you don’t need these, but if you like to spoon your smoothie from a bowl, then it’s necessary (ne-ces-sa-ry). All kinds of teeny tiny garnishments are the crown of smoothies. Don’t leave it out!
